About

Hello! Welcome to Pachamama!

My name is Liz, and I’m a biodiversity professional in New South Wales with a Master’s degree in Sustainability, and currently working toward further postgraduate studies in Marine Science and Management.

My fascination with sustainability began while volunteering in marine conservation on the Belize Barrier Reef in 2017, where I worked to protect fragile reef systems while still completing my Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science. Witnessing both the beauty and vulnerability of marine ecosystems firsthand fundamentally shifted how I viewed the relationship between science, people, and the environment. After finishing my degree, I spent several years living and working in Canada, surrounded by vast wilderness and iconic megafauna. That experience only deepened my concern for environmental degradation and intensified my desire to build a career focused on environmental protection. Driven by a growing need to turn passion into action, I returned to formal study and completed a Master’s degree in Sustainability, combining scientific training with real-world environmental practice.

My passion for sustainability naturally extended into my personal life, and ultimately inspired my business. When I started scuba diving, I quickly realised that disposable tampons were clunky, wasteful, and not really compatible with life underwater. Discovering menstrual cups completely changed the game for me - they’re reusable, reliable, and aligned with my values of sustainability. While they’re not for everyone, I love helping people explore eco-friendly alternatives and make informed choices that reduce their impact on the planet.

Menstrual cups are a simple yet powerful way to make a difference. Over a lifetime, a single person may use up to 15,000 disposable pads and tampons, with most ending up in landfill. Millions of these products also find their way into oceans, contributing to plastic pollution and harming marine life. A single menstrual cup can last up to 10 years with proper care, dramatically reducing waste. They’re made from 100% medical-grade silicone, soft, flexible, and comfortable, and they reduce the risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome. Using one is not just better for your body, it’s a choice that actively protects the environment.

This business is about more than selling a product - it’s about empowering people to make sustainable choices that align with their values. From my hands-on experience in marine and terrestrial conservation, to my scientific training and time spent exploring some of the world’s most breathtaking landscapes, everything I do is guided by the same goal: helping people live in harmony with the natural world while protecting it for generations to come!
